Improve monitoring and control of your most valuable assets with biometric asset management
Securing high value or critical assets is a must to reduce exposure to fraud and ensure the safety of site personnel. Using Cornerstone Asset Asset Management, organisations can easily increase on-site security while preventing the costs associated with stolen assets. Accurate identification with biometric technology
The biological entities used for biometric identification are unique - preventing accidental issuance due to mistaken identity. Biometrics cannot be replicated, forgotten, passed around or lost, which removes the threat of unauthorised access, while reducing the costs associated with replacing smart cards and other forms of ID. How Asset Management works
Each asset has a Unique Asset Identifier, such as a barcode or RFID tag, which is matched to individuals on enrolment. Users are enrolled using a biometric device, such as a fingerprint reader, iris camera or face scanner, from which a template is created. Every time a person attempts to access an asset, such as a prox card or fire arm, they must present themselves to the biometric device. If the system finds a match and in turn they are authorised to access that particular asset, the asset is released. Intervene in time to make a difference
Site managers are alerted if: assets aren’t returned on time; an unauthorised person attempts to access an asset; or a person attempts to return an asset that they aren’t allowed access to. Such transparency ensures that appropriate action is taken in a timely manner, while acting as an effective deterrent to unscrupulous individuals. Improve understanding of asset use
Argus Global's range of sophisticated reports offers greater clarity of when assets are accessed and by whom. Available at the touch of a button, Asset Management’s reports will tell you:
Enhancing access control
When used together with Cornerstone Access Control, Asset Management provides tighter control of site movement. For example, if a person attempts to leave a secure area while still in possession of a fire arm, relevant personnel are alerted and the individual’s record is updated. |
